A challenging career

Neil Johnston has approached his life as a challenge to learn and accomplish new skills. After working in the automotive, mining, construction, retail and hospitality industries, Neil returned as a mature age student and completed a two year course, which he later upgraded to an Advanced Diploma of Community Services Management.

Selecting positions strategically to develop and test his skills, Neil has worked at Consumer Affairs, Prison Industries and within education as a sessional teacher. He has managed a variety of business related programs at TAFE as a business development consultant and A/Team Leader of Community Services &Health Program (TAFE). Neil has also developed and managed successful programmes for over 300 long term unemployed and 230 trainees in the Health sector.

Looking back, Neil has gained experience in planning, small business, project management, quality assurance and workplace systems in both public and private enterprise.

Private practice

Neil's desire was always to become self employed, to provide the excellent service he could deliver and felt his business customers deserved.

In private practice Neil has worked with over 25 businesses in the last two years in the fields of workplace systems, safety systems, quality assurance, strategic planning and has assisted businesses to access development funding. He has also provided professional coaching to business managers and employees.

Workplace Coach

Neil actually represents what it is to think outside the square.

His unique career choices, skills and experience have created an exclusive approach for solving issues efficiently and preparing strategies to manage and unravel complex problems.

Continually applying his knowledge to encourage the potential of others has led to the field of Coaching, (some would say it has been Neil's overall skill). He has completed a course of study at CoachCorp in Melbourne to gain certification as a Coach.

Neil's point of difference in Coaching

Is the ease in which he positively draws out an exciting, results focussed plan for the future, which will improve results, and allows you to measure the ongoing progress and success.

Catalyst development (RTO)

Neil, along with Terri Simpkin and Sue Quarmby, created a registered training organisation (RTO) in 2004. Neil's focus is Project Management and First Aid.

Quality assurance

Neil has written a number of quality systems which have been certified to IS0 9000. He combines his quality assurance skills to the field of safety documentation to assist small and micro businesses to develop their safety system.
